Founding Partner
Scott Andrews was born in Texas and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. He graduated from Trinity College with a degree in Economics before embarking on a 15-year career in global finance. During this time, he worked in New York, London, Japan, and Hong Kong with leading investment banks including Nomura, Merrill Lynch, and Deutsche Bank. While based in Asia, Scott began investing in and developing real estate in emerging resort destinations such as Niseko, Japan, and Bali, Indonesia. Inspired by these experiences—and after traveling to over 83 countries—he set out to find the next global hotspot for sustainable community and lifestyle development.
In 2012, Scott discovered Playa Venao, Panama, and knew he had found what he was looking for. Since then, he has called Playa Venao home along with his wife, Aya, who runs Manglares Discovery School, and their two children, Keats and Witt.
Over the past 13 years, Scott has led the growth of AMF Capital, a development company, and Wao Venao, a hospitality brand. Together, the businesses manage more than 800 acres of land and over 100 keys of hospitality, supported by a team of 50 people. Scott is fluent in Japanese and proficient in Spanish, and continues to apply his global expertise to building vibrant, sustainable communities.
Project Manager
Carlos Castillo, a Civil Engineer with over 12 years of experience in residential and commercial projects. He brings a strong foundation in engineering and a Master’s degree in Construction Project Management to his role as Head of Development at AMF Capital. His background spans the successful planning, execution, and delivery of diverse real estate developments, ensuring exceptional results for clients and stakeholders.
At AMF Capital, he oversees all phases of real estate and construction projects, from concept to completion. His expertise lies in optimizing investments through rigorous cost control, timeline management, and unwavering quality assurance.
His career highlights include leading impactful residential communities and developing tourism-focused projects, such as beachfront hotels. Dedicated to sustainability and economic viability, he excel at turning visionary ideas into tangible, high-value assets that benefit both investors and communities.
Real Estate Sales Leader
With 8 years of proven success in the real estate industry, Stefany Miguelena combines her industrial engineering background with exceptional sales strategy and product leadership. She has consistently driven revenue growth, not only through real estate transactions but also by spearheading diverse initiatives across sectors.
Stefany began her career in supply chain and procurement at a leading firm, where she optimized vendor relations and purchasing processes. She then transitioned to become Product Manager at a maintenance and cleaning company, overseeing product development, go-to-market strategies, and cross‑functional teams.
Passionate about entrepreneurship, Stefany also founded her own business, launching a product line on Amazon. She led the marketing, sales strategy, and operations, successfully scaling the brand and gaining valuable e‑commerce expertise.
Today, Stefany focuses on real estate sales and currently works at Riverwalk residential development in Venao West.
